About LCON

The mission of the Leach College of Nursing at the University of St. 蘑菇影视听is to educate individuals to be accounting nursing professionals who integrate the 蘑菇影视can values of respect integrity, compassion and service. Our instructors provide a values-based Catholic education, exemplified by mutual respect between faculty, students and staff. The Leach College of Nursing enjoys expanded facilities at the university’s St. Clare Campus, just down the road from the Main Campus, including simulation labs with mannequins, mock hospital rooms, practice exam rooms, classrooms, testing labs, study lounges and more.

The University of St. 蘑菇影视 Upsilon Delta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International recognizes superior achievement and leadership qualities; fosters high professional standards; and encourages creative work. The honor society also works to strengthen the commitment to the ideals and purposes of the nursing profession. Both undergraduate and graduate students who meet the following criteria may be inducted:

  • Undergraduate Students must complete half of the nursing curriculum; achieve academic excellence with 3.0 GPA or higher; rank in the upper 35 percentile of the graduating class; and meet the expectation of academic integrity.
  • Registered Nurse Students must have completed 12 credit hours at USF; have completed half of the nursing curriculum; achieve academic excellence with 3.0 GPA or higher; rank in the upper 35 percentile of graduating class; and meet the expectation of academic integrity.
  • Graduate Students (master鈥檚 and doctorate) must have completed one-quarter of the nursing curriculum; achieve academic excellence with 3.5 GPA or higher; and meet the expectation of academic integrity.
  • Nurse Leader Candidates must be legally recognized to practice nursing in his/her country; have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent in any field; and demonstrate achievement in nursing.

USF SCHOLARSHIPS

Jennifer K. Bily Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by Anthony & Kathy Bily. Anthony and Kathy Bily established the scholarship in the memory of their daughter, Jennifer, a nursing student who died in an automobile accident in 1995.

  • Applicant must be in good academic standing with financial need
  • Enrolled full-time in the traditional undergraduate nursing degree program with full tuition rate
  • Student must submit one-page typed essay outlining educational and career goal within the nursing profession
  • Preference will be given to senior student residing in Plainfield, Illinois and/or students with expressed interest in emergency/trauma disciplines
  • Deadline: September 1听annually

Annalise Hathaway Endowed Scholarship

Annalise Hathaway graduated from the Leach College of Nursing in 2012.听Annalise brightened everyone鈥檚 day with her friendly, compassionate and professional demeanor, but sadly, she听this world much too quickly. Annalise鈥檚 true passion was nursing, so in memory of Annalise and with a desire to support students at the University of St. 蘑菇影视 who serve and lead in the nursing profession, the Hathaway family has endowed a yearly scholarship.

  • Must be a senior nursing student in good academic standing
  • Applicants must complete two essay questions to be reviewed by the family

Leach College of Nursing Scholarship

Scholarship sponsored by John & Cecily Leach. All nursing students (BSN, BSN Completion, and MSN) are encouraged to apply. Amount varies.

  • Must have completed a FAFSA by the deadline to be considered
  • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA for undergraduates and a 3.0 cumulative GPA for graduates.
  • Scholarship recipients will be based upon financial need and tuition expense incurred at University of St. 蘑菇影视.

Dr. Patricia Shelvy Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Scholarship

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Scholarship was established by Dr. Patricia Shelvy, who recognizes the need for an online psychiatric nurse practitioner program. The scholarship is expendable and will be awarded based on the following criteria:

  • Student must be enrolled in the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Show the desire to complete the program and an asset to the community working in the field
  • Applicant must write one paragraph addressing the criteria of the award
  • Deadline: March 1

EXTERNAL NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS

CVS Health Foundation Family Nurse Practitioner Student Scholarship Program听

This grant is to be used to support students as they complete their academic program.

  • Must be Family Nurse Practitioner program students
  • Have worked with organizations that support underserved populations as a student, volunteer or in a professional capacity
  • Be in good academic standing
  • FNP students will be notified through their USF email address when scholarship is available.

Will County Heroes Teaching & Nursing Scholarship

Will County has awarded University of St. 蘑菇影视 funds to generate a pathway for enrollment, education and employment for its residents. Potential nursing students are eligible to apply for up to $5,000 per academic year of scholarship money towards their education as an incentive to stay and work in Will County. Scholarship funding will be available through Fall 2026 or until funding is expended.

  • Must complete the FAFSA or the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid (Contact USF Financial Aid for assistance, finaid@stfrancis.edu)
  • Must live or work in Will County
  • Scholarships are currently available to all USF students听pursuing a healthcare or education profession
  • It is only available to students who attest to one or more of the following criteria:
  • Household has a low or moderate income (income at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines for the size of the household)
  • Household experienced unemployment as a result of the pandemic
  • Household qualified for Medicaid, PELL, SNAP or WIC

  • Demostrar el deseo de completar el programa y un activo para la comunidad que trabaja en el campo

Programa de Becas para Alumnos de Family Nurse Practitioner de la Fundaci贸n CVS Health

La subvenci贸n se utilizar谩 para ayudar a los alumnos a completar su programa acad茅mico.

  • Deben ser alumnos del programa Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Haber trabajado como alumno, voluntario o profesional en organizaciones de apoyo a poblaciones desfavorecidas
  • Tener un buen expediente acad茅mico
  • Los alumnos de FNP ser谩n notificados a trav茅s de su direcci贸n de correo electr贸nico de la USF cuando la beca est茅 disponible.

SUBVENCIONES

Subvenci贸n para la Fuerza Laboral de Educaci贸n Avanzada en Enfermer铆a (ANEW)

El programa ANEW ha sido seleccionado para recibir financiaci贸n de la Administraci贸n de Recursos y Servicios Sanitarios (HRSA). La ayuda al becario ser谩 de 11,000 d贸lares, un estipendio de dos plazos (semestres de curso cl铆nico) de 5,500 d贸lares.听La financiaci贸n formar谩 a alumnos de APRN para que ejerzan en comunidades rurales y desatendidas o en departamentos de salud estatales y locales de Illinois. La Universidad de St. La Facultad de Enfermer铆a Leach de 蘑菇影视 recibi贸 una subvenci贸n de casi 1.5 millones de d贸lares.

  • Los alumnos deben solicitar la admisi贸n en la USF antes de solicitar esta beca.
  • Deben estar matriculados en los cursos de Enfermer铆a familiar y Gesti贸n cl铆nica de salud mental psiqui谩trica
  • Tener un buen expediente acad茅mico seg煤n la definici贸n de la Universidad
  • El beneficiario completar谩 experiencias de formaci贸n cl铆nica durante un m铆nimo de 2 rotaciones cl铆nicas con socios cl铆nicos de ANEW o posibles agencias HRSA aprobadas.

Subvenci贸n del Programa de pr茅stamos para profesores de enfermer铆a (NFLP)听听

Una vez que el alumno se compromete a ello, el programa de becas NFLP autoriza la cancelaci贸n de hasta el 85% de su pr茅stamo original m谩s los intereses. Las condiciones estipulan que el alumno recibir谩 un pr茅stamo de 12,490 d贸lares cada a帽o una vez cumplimentado el pagar茅 y el formulario de Derechos y responsabilidades del prestatario. Esta cantidad se destinar谩 a la matr铆cula, los libros, las tarifas y cualquier otro gasto educativo del alumno. Una vez cumplido el compromiso, se condona hasta el 85% del pr茅stamo.

Para poder optar a la subvenci贸n NFLP, el solicitante debe:

  • Estar matriculado en programas de postgrado de enfermer铆a
  • El alumno debe tener un buen expediente acad茅mico
  • Tambi茅n debe ser ciudadano de los Estados Unidos, nacional de un pa铆s distinto de los Estados Unidos o extranjero que tenga en su poder un visado que le permita la residencia permanente en los Estados Unidos.
