Joliet, Ill. 鈥� USF is proud to announce the addition of men鈥檚 volleyball as its newest intercollegiate athletics program, expanding opportunities for student-athletes and further strengthening the university鈥檚 commitment to competitive excellence, student success and holistic development. The addition will increase the number of sports offerings on the Joliet-based campus to 21 with the Pat Sullivan Center serving as its home court.
Men鈥檚 volleyball has experienced significant growth across both the Midwest and nationally, making it a strategic and timely addition to the Saints鈥� athletic offerings. The program will emphasize academic achievement, leadership, sportsmanship and community engagement.
The men鈥檚 volleyball team will begin play in Spring, 2027, competing at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) level and in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC). The addition aligns with St. 蘑菇影视鈥� mission to educate the whole person鈥攎ind, body and spirit.
鈥淲e are committed to building a program that reflects the character and excellence of the University of St. 蘑菇影视,鈥� said Dave Laketa, USF director of athletics. 鈥淢en鈥檚 volleyball will not only enhance our athletics portfolio, but also contribute to campus life, school spirit and enrollment growth. The program will create new opportunities for talented student-athletes to compete at a high level, while receiving a values-based education rooted in our 蘑菇影视can tradition.鈥�
Recruiting efforts are underway, with plans to assemble a competitive inaugural roster and coaching staff dedicated to developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
